My friend has managed to get his browser hijacked and was wondering if anyone can advise me what is safe to delete from this hijack this log.
When he starts Internet Explorer he gets a virus warning (more like spyware I think) and he gets directed to a website asking him to pay for some dodgy spyware program.There is also a toolbar that has appeared that I think is part of the problem.
He has macafee virus checker and spybot installed (spybot finds something and says it has fixed it but it comes back).Thanks in advance.

try spybot and adaware in safe mode and see if it can clear up the intruder which seems to be olivetti, ewido is supposed to clean this up to.

trying to remove all the registry traces is going to take a long time so try the easier route.

I think he has tried spybot & adaware in safe mode but to no effect.I will double check this tomorrow for him. The problem is not olivetti as this is his bluetooth printer but thanks for the advise anyway. I was thinking about the following entries but wanted confirmation before deleting them as Idont want to mess his pc up.

O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {BA52B914-B692-46c4-B683-905236F6F655} - (no file)

O8 - Extra context menu item: &Search - http://edits.mywebsearch.com/toolbar...rch.jhtml?p=ZR

I m also not sure what PCODEC is in his program files. Anyone help with this ?

Problem sorted.
It was the entries that I thought and the PCODEC thing.
I should trust my own judgement more in the future.
Thanks to those that viewed the thread.

It might be worth checking this out ... to make sure you got rid of it all :

Delete these two entries:
O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {BA52B914-B692-46c4-B683-905236F6F655}
O8 - Extra context menu item: &Search - http://edits.mywebsearch.com/toolbar...rch.jhtml?p=ZR
Also like PhilEnfield said, check to remove all the components of mywebsearch.
