My hard drive is having some "issues". I cannot boot it into Windows at all. Whenever I select a profile to load it just reboots the computer. I have another smaller hard drive that I thought that I could install windows on and set the problematic drive up as a slave. I am hoping that I could then access the bad drive and recover some of the files that I need and save them to disc. Once I have done this, I would like to reformat the bad drive and reinstall windows. What I want to know is, what files do I need to backup so that I don't loose any of my Outlook emails and address etc. Thanks for the help.

Outlook info are stored in a single PST file, normally located under 'Docs & Settings' under your username folder, need to drill down, or simply search for PST files with the option to search for hidden files/folder ticked.

As Duffy said, you'll need to backup (export) Outlook info to a PST file on a different physical HDD and that's what I'm doing periodically. It's under File/Import-Export. Choose PST as the export format and remember to select "include subfolders" option.
