Help recorded vcd onto dvdr with standalone dvd recorder & no sound on pc when i play

hi all ive just bought myself a dvd recorder standalone panasonic i recorded a vcd to dvdr using the standalone and my own dvd player. When i play it on either of my 2 dvd players its fine but when i put it in the pc it has no sound. Can anyone shed any light on this for me please. Cheers guys & gals
