:wavey: I usually load all my xbox games onto its 80gB modded hard drive and the games work fine, No problems at all, So why do you need to patch the xbe files when burnt to a dvdr, wots it actually do ?.

not necessarily- depends most of the time on what bios you have

here's an explanation:

If an XBE (XBOX executable) has a media type of an original XBOX DVD (retail game) then a check is performed if the inserted disc is really an original XBOX media type. No Patch Hack modifies the media type dynamically so it no longer performs that check (before this the game had to be patched manually with a piece of custom software).

so if you are having no probs then i wouldn't bother patching them- if you are "lending" these to your mates ;), then you may want to patch them, afterall a no patch hacked bios (as most newer bios's are) can read a patched xbe but the reverse isn't true

If you download the games then they are usually already patched.

I always do it anyways before burning a DVD. It takes all of 5 seconds to do so you can't claim it's inconvenient and it insures the disc will work on almost any modded XBOX irregardless of their BIOS.

yeah, everytime before i backup a game, i do a quick check with isocraxtion, to see if it needs patching, (just tell it to patch, and see if it finds anything) then that tells me whether or not it has the check...but overall, with all my current games (bout 3) none of them have needed it
