been looking about so i can get a working wireless connection in my house without having to buy a router to link up to my useless crappy ntl modem.

can't find anywhere an actual broadband modem rthat also gives out a wi-fi signal-just want to plug my brodband cable straight into it so i can link it up to my pc and also have the benefit of wi-fi in the house.

is there such a thing(in the uk)

tried using a router before but it always ends up disconnecting/playing up etc etc and the ntl modem is so crap i'm guessing thats part of the problem

AFAIK the only way you can get wi-fi, is by using the Modem with a wireless Router.
I use BY Cable with a Linksys wireless Router and it's fine.

If you suspect the NTL modem is faulty, complain to NTL .... tell a few porkys, like ..... all the lights keep going out and it keeps disconnecting ... i.e. intermittant fault .... they will just replace it ;)

yeh with a decent router by a decent manufacturer (linksys for example) and a properly working modem, you should have no problems with wireless
