ok ive been having problems playing a game, ut2004, it played fine for days but then all of a sudden when it was loading a game my screen turned blue and i was locked out of my pc, so first thing i did was go for system restore to take my pc back to when it did work, ayway comp goes thru all the system restore motions and all looks ok and as its booting up and just about to load desktop it says "cannot restore to date xxxxx no changes have been made to your computer", now ive tried all the restore dates i got same on all of them, first thing i thought of was virus, done a scan with norton and another online scan all clear, used spybot to check for spyware but none of that there either!!
running out of ideas, to make matters worse ut2004 started working fine again yesterday but today im back to blue screens!!!
anyone got any ideas?
my pc is athlon 2500+barton, 512ddr 400 ram, radeon 9600 pro 256 meg graph card 120 gig hd, oh i also downloaded latest drivers for card and that made no diff
anyone got any ideas? cheers

Sounds like you could be possibly running a corrupt version of ut2004! What are the blue screen notices saying ????, Have you tried a fresh install of ut2004????

BTW if you are to unistall ut2004 to reinstall it do a system restore save point b4 you reinstall

no notes on blue screen, pure blue, yep have uninstalled and re-installed and same problem, im more worried over my system restore than the game as if anything else goes wrong ive got no way of getting it back to how it was, any ideas on how to get system restore back up and running? have checked and its deffo set to on

OK try this, goto run in the start menu and open services.msc. Check to see if System Restore has started and is set to automatic. As it also depends on Remote Procedure Call (RPC) check to see if that has started and set to automatic too. One this is done may be wise with the problems you have been having to Create a Restore point.

Next unistall UT2004 then set another restore point. Your system should be back to the way it was before the game was installed. Although I cant see how the game has affected system restore process, bizarre indeed!

BTW you may want to delete all previous system restore points after adding the two mentioned above.
