OK, for example download a zip file, but when I click the link it just downloads and opens the zip, doesnt give me an option to save, same with jpgs .. any ideas??

er bizarre one, pcs are a big pain in the butt when they play silly!!! The obvious way to get around it would be rightclick the link then select 'save target as' in the sub menu.

'Save as' is a good workaround, but I get a lot of covers from a site where right click is disabled, so no good for that!

What security level do you have set? Perhaps it forces it to open and not give you the choice?

btw, SP2 is working fine for me

Ok, heres a bash in the dark lol! Select custom level under security settings, Select your settings to your preferred preferance. Make Sure File Download is enabled. Furthermore you may want to enable the 'notify when download completes' under Advanced tab.

I've read about this problem on a few boards and some people have solved it by deleting the file type so you can be prompted for "Open" or "Save" when you download. But then you may have to re-associate the file type with an application again so the fole will open.

Another option is to uninstall SP2 and see if the problem stops.
