I made a backup of Prey on dvd+r DL Ritek media. The file was patched with the ss.bin. When I put the game in the Xbox 360 I get a message saying
to play this game put it in a xbox 360 console
I flashed the drive with xtreme20.bin. Everything flashed fine. The 360 plays originals fine.
Any suggestions.

Have you had any previous success with that burner. I love all my nec's, I've had loads of NEC and every Pioneer, but it does appear they arent as good as Pioneer for 360.
Also have you got the NEC bitsetting adjusted to DVD-ROM, if not track down liggy and dee firmware or the dangerous brothers.

I used my nec for a few months now. Burns all movies and xbox games. This is my first 360 game I am trying.
I'll look into bitsetting. I'm not sure what that is.
Thanks

I'm going to flash the firmware on my NEC. What is the difference between origianl and RPC-1? They have both for my NEC that supports bitsetting of +r DL.

RPC probably has rip lock removed (faster ripping standard NEC f/w is limited with burned media) and region free. Deffo go for RPC-1

i would invest in the pioneer 111d for the price they cost.

I can't get a single back up to work with this NEC 3550a. I changed the firmware again to 1Y6. Its suppose to have bitsetting.
Has anyone with a NEC 3550a gotten a back up to work?
Every disk I burn says " To play this disk put it in a 360 Console. I double and triple checked my firmware for my Toshiba. My dvd key is definately there.
Maybe I'll just buy a Pioneer. Thats the drive I always had in the past. I already wasted 5 DL disks.
What firmware is needed for the 111d?

Should also say that even with bitsetting enabled sometimes you need to turn this on.
I think you can do this via DVDinfo pro.
Some firmwares come with their own little app to enable disable, but just don't take it as red that it's on by default cos mostly it isn't.
Also Ritek make sh!t DL media.
However as already said, NEC are pretty bad for 360.

I just ordered a 111d from Newegg. Should be here around Friday.
What type of media do you suggest? I read people liked Ritek, Verbatim, and Memorex. I have a Toshiba in my 360.
I'll have to read up on DVDInfo Pro and changing the bitsetting. I found a program that adds bitsetting for dvd+r DL media to dvd-rom. It writes to the registry and is set every time you boot your pc.
Is the 111d ready to go out of the box, or do I have to flash a new firmware to it?

111d is dl rom out of the box, but I always use upadted f/w cos I like rip lock removal etc.
Ritek D/L are no good m8. Some will tell you they have good success with em but, you just can't knok Verb

Got my 111d today. First burn went to 100% then said write failed using CloneCd newest version. I'll try another. I might update the firmware. Its the stock 1.19 firmware right now.
