well you could use dvd decrypter to rip it as an iso,

but you don't need an iso for craxtion you can use files- just point it to the folder contianing the game.

to get the files, either ftp from the xbox dvd rom drive or use C-Xbox tools (http://xbox-scene.com/tools/tools.php?page=isotools#newsitemEplEpZVZuVLgoLDJBu )

hmmm strange....

ok well then try dvd decrypter (assuming the files you are trying to extract are from a back up already)

what dash are you using? would suggest maybe updating it- i can access the d drive from all the different dash's i have

evox latest v3935
avalaunch latest 0.48.64

 Dvd decrypter, Nero no chance forget it , you'll have to have a hard drive in your xbox to convert it back from the dvdr disk, tried it yesterday with splinter cell 2, dvdr - converted back thru PX hdd loader to files so i could make my own iso's with craxtion works perfect, i'll do it for you at a ££ of course, or drop me an email, we can sought something out if interseted (swaps or similar), no software will even touch the dvdr as it keeps coming up blank or unreadable.

XISO will do it- i know cos i regularly use it- the only reason that i'm aprehensive in giving that advice is that many people on xbox scene have reported that iso's extracted/created with xiso have turned out to be dodgy.

I've never had a problem with it, although hardly ever use it nowadays (apart from the extraction of files from a back up placed in my dvd-rom)

ok you'll need this program xiso (v1.1.5).

find it on the iso tools page at xbox-scene.

select the drive u have put the disc in and click on "read xdvd" (button looks like a magnifying glass over a disc)

select folder and then click on save dile (i think its meant to be save file :D)

it doesn't save the folder you select but transfers everything in that folder to the destination folder, so remember to create a folder for the game on your pc.

the dvd-rw is gonna cause probs- if it does it will rag your xbox drive

however I'm pretty sure that something like dvd decrypter in iso read mode will work- it doesn't need to actually need to read the contents of the disc just make an image of it

no probs Qube, glad it helped

if you are trying to back up your retail disc then the only way to do it is the way you said- but for backups this should be quicker :)
