Hi, can anyone advise the best dvd copier to buy - at a relatively cheap price. Also easiest software to enable copying dvd films. Thanks

Pioneer 107 gets my vote. There are cheaper writers but they seem to have more compatibility issues (in general) with DVD-R discs than the Pioneer. In terms of the best software that is all relative. If you want the absolute best of the best then CCE is what you want. The program however is VERY expensive and will take you an average of about 5 hours to complete each DVD project. The quality however is second to none. The problem is that most movies are too big to fit on a DVD-R so they need to either be compressed, have the extras/menus ripped out, ect. in order to fit on a disc. Anyways on the other side of the spectrum is DVD Shrink. It won't produce results that are as good as CCE but it is legal freeware and (depending on the specs of your computer) pretty much any project will take less than an hour. DVD Shrink does not burn DVD-R discs but the latest version links to another freeware program (DVD Decrypter) and it will automatically link to it and burn it when DVD Shrink is finished. You can get DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter at www.dvdshrink.org (http://www.dvdshrink.org/) and www.dvddecrypter.com (http://www.dvddecrypter.com/). IMHO, start out with the freeware programs first before looking into pay software. I would say that 99% of the time DVD Shrink delivers good quality results and you really can't go wrong with a free program. If worse comes to worse and you decide that it doesn't produce the results that you want, at least you didn't lose any money. Above all steer clear of the DVD X COPY/Xpress and other 321 software programs. If you are going to spend money on software there are a bunch of other programs that will give you more for your money.

Thanks Jesterrace. Will shop around on net for pioneer 107 cos did'nt have a clue. Might try 'mesh' where I had computer from. I had heard copying films was not as easy as copying cd's - sounds complicated. Think I will get one installed and then try the freebie software recommended.

Thanks geobon for the web address. Yes I am in Uk and have been on net most of afternoon searching but as I've not ordered that much stuff of internet appreciate reputable site recommendation as still a bit wary of ordering yet. Anyway cheapest I could find was one at £80 an one at £90 and there was two pioneer 107 copiers but not sure what the difference was so will give that site a look.

There is a Pioneer 107 and A07 I would personally go with the 107 becuase the only difference between the 107 and A07 is that one comes with software/cables and the other is just the bare drive. You should already have the cables that you need for your drive already inside your PC. The software that you need is freeware which you are going to D/L anyway or if you want to go the CCE route it certainly does not come with the A07. A07=the retail model with software,cables.ect. and the 107 is just the bare drive. The only other thing you will need with the 107 are a few screws to hold it in place. Those won't cost you much at all.

£77.98 for the Pioneer 107 with 25 quality blanks.
This is probably the best deal on the internet and if you join their members club on their homepage they offer 99p p&p every now and then.
Its not complicated to copy DVDs but i think it would be wrong to assume that its as quick and easy as copying CDs.
Like Jesterrace said,DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter are all you need and they're free.
