Okay, my understanding is that this is supposed to be like a freeware version of CCE. I want to know how to go about making backups of my DVD originals using this software. Idiot's Guide's are preferrable here folks. :D

Simplest way would be:
Run your VOB/M2V through DVD2AVI saving out a D2V and demuxing the AC3 if you have not already. Make an AVISynth script. can be as simple as.
mpeg2source("whatever.d2v")
Open the script and encode.
Take your m2v and ac3 and then author.

Okay so would I need any additional software then? I only have DVD Decrypter, DVD Shrink and Qenc.

You do have AVISynth isntalled, no? Because QuEnc only accepts AVISynth scripts as input. You would also need the MPEG2Dec AVISynth plugin and DVD2AVI. Oh yeah, also something like Notepad to write the script.
I would suggest the versions of MPEG2Dec and DVD2AVI from here: http://www.neuron2.net/fixd2v/decodefix.html
Oh yeah also something for authoring the files when you are done. Could also use QuEnc as part of another package like DVD rebuilder.

Okay forget it that is more work then I wanna go through just to get a backup of a movie. I was hoping to use this for better quality on a couple of my movie backups but that just isn't worth it. Thanks all the same though.

Go to the link Lazza gave me for the one click method for CCE - DVDReBuilder:(www.dvdrbase.com (http://www.dvdrbase.com)).
The tutorial in there told me exactly what software I needed and how to set it up - once everything is installed, its one click.
DVDReBuilder is being made to remove all the hassle of the process described by celt.

Yeah, I looked around there a bit. I will check into it more. By the time I get this all figured out I will have a dual-layered burner.
