ok this is wrack... anyways.. i know i install it right... boots up fine and plays DVD backup fine.. then i put the PS2 back together... then test it again.. it goes to the stand by mode when you switch it on normally... and then when i press eject or reset to get it active.. it turns on and then turns off... weird.. thought one of my wire is loose.. open it up and re-check everything and it seems fine.. put it back together test it again.. still nothing... hhmm.. then i take off the mod chip and it boots to browse... well at least it didn't die on me yet... then put the mod chip back in.. still the same thing happen? anyone know what's wrong? and the way i look at it.. the only thing that i think could be wrong is the points on the bottom some of them look like it's really bad so that might be it but i need to find an alt to test that theory.. so now i am here stump waiting for next weekend to work on it again... hump

Check to see if you are pinning down some wires when you put everything to gether if 2 things touch each other or you ground out when you are not suuposed with certain points that will keep it from working.

Try routing your wires neater and definitely make sure you at least cover your power and ground points with electrical tape. (I try to cover them all with a little dab of tape all over the place)

fiberglass pencils do wonders for vias it takes the coating off and allows the wires to stick on there very very very easy

I have one of these and it works great it brings a tears to my eyes from the amount of happiness I get from using it

Also another big tip make sure that you use some flux it helps the solder stick a lot easier also I would say one of the most important tips for new modders
