I have an LCD monitor and I set a new image as my background about a month ago. Today while browsing a website, I noticed that I could see the outline of my background image and now that I know it's there it is very noticeable on certain background colors. Even though I always have a screensaver enabled, it appears that the image has been burned into my monitor... is there anything that can be done to repair this?

Unlike CRT's, the "burn-in" image on an LCD screen is not permanent. If you use a screensaver to cycle images or turn off the monitor when the computer is not in use, it will disappear in a few days. Turning off the monitor is the faster way of the 2.

Use Blank Screen as a screen saver whenever LCD is ON but not in use. Also keep your brightness setting to min possible.
