Problem with Pioneer 107D

I am trying to connect my Laptop: IBM T21
to a
Pioneer 107D
using an External Enclosure

the drive is recognised but not as a recorder.

I have tried using prassi and nero with no success---any help much appreciated.

Are you using the very latest version of nero? and when you say prassi do you mean prassi primo dvd and if so it dosen't support a 106 never mind a 107. You'll need the later version of nero 5.10.54 or above i think or RecordnowMax with the latest PXengine (507).

use rec now max with px engine 408,or the latest version of nero.both will recognise the recorder fine.

Yup as mentioned above unless you are running the latest update of Nero or RNM it won't work. Prassi won't work on the newer drives no matter what you update.
