I have TV episodes in .avi format 350mb each and want to put as many on a dvd as possible (say 4) to watch on my TV with DVD player. How do I do it? I have Nero sware. (I have looked in tutorials here but can't see anything on this) Thanks in advance

You can easily make the DVDs from those AVI's with Nero Vision or Nero Vision Express. The software is very easy to use so I believe you'll have no problems but if you do have other questions, please post back.

When I add the avi file in the project screen in Nero vision express it goes from 350mb to 1.98gb. So what am i doing wrong as i should be able to get 4 eps on 1 dvd.

Depending on the video bitrate that has been set, the file size will change according to the video contents and the time length of the file(s).

First, you need to enable Nero Smart Encoding (or set it to automatic) so that the files or segments that are compliant with the DVD format will not be re-encoded to save time and also to avoid degrading the qual of the video as much as possible. Only set the video bitrate manually when you want to tweak the file size to fit on a DVDR.

ok, when i set it to extended play the file size drops down enough (1gb) with a bitrate of 2537kbit/s to fit 4 on 1 disc. Do you think this is ok? Thanks for your help and speedy response.

When changing the bitrate to fit the video onto a DVD-5, from my own experience, the qual of the video will be:

- Super-excellent if the total time is 1hr or less.

- Excellent if the total time is b/w 1-2hrs.

- Good if the total time is b/w 2-3hrs.

- Not very good if the total time is b/w 3-4hrs.

- Bad if the total time is more than 4hrs.

Double these numbers for DVD9. :) However, you can't make the video or audio better than the original.

Or you can just make a data disk with them & play on a Divx dvd player. No converting necessary.

XBMC is one of the best Divx players.
