The advice I would like is for building a pc with a pioneer dvd writer, 1gb ddr ram, nice graphics card, 2 big hard drives. The purpose of the machine is for ripping dvd's and I want to know these things please:

What type of ddr ram to buy n where?

Where to by a descent case, fancy one with the temp displayed?

What fans will I need n where to buy?

Advice on graphics card dont want to spend too much on it though?

What type of h/d to buy and where?

Where to buy the pioneer dvd writer?

What dvd rom drive to buy, want to be able to read all forms of protection with it if poss ie safedisk etc?

What processor to get, and where, need a fast reliable 1?

How many fans will I need in the case as I will be knocking out alot of dvd's?

would u reccomend one where u can vary the speed of the fan?

Nice flat screen monitor cheap as possible?

Whats the best mainboard at the mo reasonable price?
Asus is my choice such as the A7N8X-E Deluxe NF2
Abit are also a good choice such as the AN7 NF2

What fans will I need n where to buy?
How many fans will I need in the case as I will be knocking out alot of dvd's?
As many as the case will support, either use Vantec stealth which are quiet as they run at half the usual 12V fan speed, or fit such as YS-Tech and connect them to the PSU via a 12V-OFF-5V switch or baybus.

Advice on graphics card dont want to spend too much on it though?
Powercolour ATI 9600 256MB on board around £115

What processor to get, and where, need a fast reliable 1?
Not much point in buying less than a Barton 3200, for reliability, peace of mind and idle temps well below 30c, recommend a thermalright heatsink and a 92mm fan which you could connect to the PSU along with the case fans via a 12V-OFF-5V switch on it's own if not absolutely certain about power consumtion of fans of this size allways connect to the psu or they can destroy the motherboard

Would u reccomend one where u can vary the speed of the fan?
If reffering to PSU not essential, new Enermax & Antec PSU's are extremely quiet and well controlled, some have manual fan control but your choice.

What type of h/d to buy and where?
Western Digital 8MB cache is my first choice, Maxtor 8MB are also good

What type of ddr ram to buy n where?
OCZ dual channel DDR400 (not much point in single channel for a new build, do you want the extra bandwidth?), Buy, anywhere with recorded or registered delivery

Where to by a descent case, fancy one with the temp displayed?
What ever you buy make it a full tower.
