master or slave

Afternoon all :)

Quick question i have a dvd rom drive and a dvd burner in my new system and was wondering which is best to have as master and slave

It depends on how you are going to work.

If you are going to be doing lots of Disk to Disk Copying (on the fly) put the DVD-ROM as the Pimary Slave and the DVD Burner as The Secondary Master.

For best speeds, when ripping to HDD, however, the DVD-ROM may be better as the Secondary Slave, but this will slow things down, with on the fly copying and may cause problems.

IMO it's best to have the Burner as the Master drive on the Secondary channel, as this will give best performance and then make your choice re the DVD-ROM.
