hi,

this may sound silly, but ive just purchases a TFT monitor without any cables or power supply (or even a manual). i'm not sure what i need to connect it to my computer?

i thought it would come with a able to connect to a computer, but instead it comes with 2 port i've never seen before:

one is a 15-hole with "D-sub" written next to it
the other is a small round hole with "14v DC" written next to it.

i assume one is for the power and the other is for the PC. but where do i get these from? are they sold seperatly? i tried searching but i cant seem to find what im looking for. maybe im not searching the wright words.

what exactly is it that i need??

done some research, found this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3473259454&category=3668

can someone confirm this is what i need?

thanks

I take it you bought this 2nd hand? If it's new then ask the reseller where the psu & manual are.

That looks like the right video cable but you might have some trouble getting a power supply for it as there is no common standard.

You can buy VGA cables at lots of shops, but the powersupply would be a little harder. Try contacting the manufactor, or search some auction site like ebay.

yes it is 2nd hand. ive managed to find the VGA cable. however i have yet to find the power supply. whats the reason its so hard to find? is it no longer being made? is it old?

do you guys have a TFT screen, if so; what power supply do you use? maybe its the same.

thanks

you should be able to get a power supply from a good electronics store. Try Maplin these are prety good and are in most major cities . Infact if you took the TFT to them I am sure they would help you out. You will need a 14v DC power supply. Hopefully if you look on the back of the TFT it should say the current rating that I would image will be a few hundred mA (milli Amps) take that info to maplin and they should be able to sort you out.

As for what other people are using, every manufacturer builds there own TFT's to thier own spec and therefore could and probably will have a differant voltage.

Hope this helps

If you want to find your nearest maplin store the website is www.maplin.co.uk (http://www.maplin.co.uk/) (bet you would never have guessed that! :) ) As uncle suggested try taking it to them & asking if they can help. They can usually suggest something.
