I've noticed that you can get LOTR3 on a 2 dvd version... Does this mean the film is split into 2 parts or is it the same as other one has the film on and the other the extra???

The retail copy has the film split into 2 parts.

Yes the films split between the 2 discs on the NTSC version, Although the PAL version is only 1 disc.

It is not available to buy yet, it was released online ages ago and when it is released in the shops it will be on 1 Disc with another Disc for the extras. The only reason there was a 2 Disc release online was to keep the quality high but people have released 1 Disc versions anyway which are lower quality.

Indiana Jones the PAL retail was only released online 2 days ago (1 disc inc extras)That is true about the PAL release being released only a few days ago but the NTSC release was released on the 3rd March so has been available online for over a month.
