Firewalls

Hi, i have a question re firewalls, wondering if someone has the answer to it.

I have 2 pc's which share a conection to the internet. The main one is conected through my Adsl moden and the other is conected through a network card and cable.

My question is do i need to install a firewall on both computers or does it just need to be on the main one.

I am of the opinion that i only need one, cos anything that tries to get through to the second pc is going to have to pass my firewall on the first computer? right?

sygate firewall
avast AV

install on both machines. Just to be sure. For example, e-mails, although they go through the host machine will not be opened on that machine they will be downloaded to the second machine.
