Just wondering will Us equipment (controllers wireless adapters etc) work on a uk xbox 360 or is it region protected in some form ???

The accessories should all work fine with different regions. The only things that are region specific are the ac adapter (110v/220v) and video output (50hz/60hz). You can even get some games that are region free.
