Alcohol 120% w/out mod chip?

Someone in my college class was telling me that they have a newer version of alcohol 120% out, that you could burn cd-r and dvd-r games and then play them in a ps2 without the need of a mod chip. Is this true, or can someone confirm this?

True, but games can be burned and played without using Alcohol120%, or by using an older version. I think he meant just put in the tray and play, if so then there is no way to play without mod or swap.

Yup unless he is talking about some sort of swap method or exploit then there is no way it can be done without a chip.
