YES... assuming the silver is a dvd5 and not a dvd9 but best copying direct from backups, As for media i think the best media for overall compatibility is ritek -R.

Just to add the drives arent included with this, You have to add a reader and writer.

write i aint got a clue, first of all thanks for your response, when you say i need drives reader and writer, does that mean you buy the machine then software for it to copy dvds

and how do you know if your silver is a 5 or 9?

i am really sorry, but thanks for not laughing.............

When i say drives i mean that its just a case with controller and you have to buy a DVD-rom & DVD-writer to put into it to make it a fully working duplicator, As for knowing if a silver is dvd5 or dvd9 you just look at in in your PC and if its 4.37gb or under its dvd5 if its larger its dvd9.

a pioneer 121 & a pioner 106/107 is what id recommend.

121 is only £24.99 & 107 £74.99

does that it will record in realtime because the 121 is x1?

no it'll record at 1x 2x 4x or 8x whatever you select, they default is maximum, and the 121 is 16x not 1x

I will be purchasing a 1 to 2 Duplicator. You can build your own or buy it preconfigured with drives and everything. Of course like it was mentioned before, the DVD has to be a DVD5 and decrypted. Can't copy protected media :bawling:

Hope this helps,

This drive has exceptional performance features and is particularly impressive because of its reliability. Not recommend for USB 1 as you may experience data timeout problems.

i belive this would mean i need to break down the dvd then rebuild it before buiding, it not a simple as putting it on the HD the straight to DVD-r?

You can copy already ripped DVD's. You can't just stick your retail DVD in the machine and copy. However, you can do it with your Retail CD's except the ones with copy protection.

I just got my duplicator and damn is it awesome. Just turn the power on, select copy mode, insert master, insert blank media, press the run button and in about 10-15 minutes the copy is complete!!!

I will be making a 1-4 next!!!

I'll try to post pics soon.
