IPod questions?

Hi Folks

Its the misses birthday in a couple of months time and she has been hinting at an MP3 player.

I have never really took any notice of IPods before but just wanted to know what is so good about them? Are you just paying for a name and can get the same features of an IPod in other cheaper mp3 players or are they really that good? If so what is it that makes them good?

Any comments/help greatly received.

Probably #1 best feature for me is the scroll wheel, it makes browsing through your ablums/artists/songs very easy.

IMHO,
Ipod`s, mp3 players are old hat, get her a decent mobile phone, ie, SE W800i, or similar.
