Idea for new forum...please look in...

couldn't find a good place to ask about this, so i'm' posting it here, feel free to move it if it belongs somewhere else.

What about a forum for Cell Phone games. We could discuss where to get Nokia, SE, Motorola, etc games (the free Java games of course :nono: ).

Also people can ask questions about why their games won't work, how to get it on their phones, etc etc. Maybe even allow other cell phone discussions like ringtone, wallpapers, applications, themes, and other issues.

I'd like to see a section at least for cell phone games...would that be a possibility? Is there even interest for this?

Good idea. I just hope the process to add a new forum doesn't take as long as it did on CDRG... :)

My view on this is we have a pretty much "General" Video Game section, which includes PC and Dreamcast and whatever else, so why not just use what you have? The majority of people don't have the newest and greatest games for their phone (since most cost money, and i know I aint payin for somethin that I'm gonna play once a day for a few minutes).

Just my .2 though.

yeah i'm not sure that it warrants a whole new forum- the gsm forum in BST was my initial thought but i've always got the impression that discussion/help was frowned upon and only trades were supposed to be there. :confused:

Ya, I see your points about maybe its not that big of a topic to have its own forum, but keep in mind, mobile gaming has blown up in recent months. Like it was mentioned above, the general gaming section can be used, but having a seperate mobile forum I think would bring more informed people from the scene.

It has grown immensely, but I don't really think it's "blown up". The failure of the N-gage really hurt the mobile gaming scene, and kind of proved to me (and this is just my opinion) that most people really aren't looking to play Tony Hawk like games on their phones.

I can understand the obsession in places like Japan, since almost everyone uses public transportation and needs something to do.

Nah, I dnt think there should be.... keep it on BST, better that way, this is more of a computer resourse ect ect, dnt think we should bring mobile phones\Cell Phones, GSM back over here.

Going by logic, there should be some sort of GSM forum here. After all, BST-Secure is Buying, Selling and Trading.

SAT forum is an exception since not much trading occurs.

However, from looking at the GSM forum their, there is plenty of trading so perhaps having a problem/troubleshooting/games or whatever GSM section over here would be brillaint. I am sure it would clear up BST too for its actual purpose.

f34r its not they're not helpful its just that i suppose logically, help/support questions are replied to far slower than trade related posts and the next thing you know the help request is on page 3, and many people don't look that far through unless they are looking for something specific

I think maybe a separate GSM forum for support over here may be good idea- but i dunno what you guys think....

I know for the nokia 6600 the range of topics range from emulators, to encoding movies and music, and lots of random stuff in between

I think this should be covered off in BST GSM, which is thriving.
You'd also get people trying to sell here if you had a forum of that type, which would not be what DVDROM is all about

I don't want it to be a selling forum. Just a place where we can ask questions related to cell phones. The focus will be mobile games, but we can also cover things like wallpapers, ringtones, software, transfer methods (ie BT, IR, WAP, etc). Also more serious questions such as cell phone unlocking, troubleshooting, etc.

Selling and trading cell phones games, tones, etc is not what I'd like to see.
