A little more info is needed. You said you got a new hard drive. Yet you say that you get a Windows error. So obviously this hard drive was working at some point for you to get Windows installed. How long did this work before going south.

It is always best to install on piece of hardware at a time so if this happens you can determine which piece is the culprit. Have you tried putting the old memory back in to see if it works?

I'm guessing this happened during the Windows installation ?

Tell us what happened .... i.e. did Windows allow the drive to be formatted ? or did it not get that far ?

Some specs may help oo ;)
