Thanks go to brianc for putting this together, and polestar and The Prophecy for sending it along to me. Not to mention a tip from vinniedub in this thread (http://www.dvdrom-guide.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10573&highlight=Epson+R300).

This will also work on an R200. The instructions and pictures are located in the link below.

Great info and easy to do for a change.

My Epson just reported it needed servicing. Used the utility to reset the counters. Thought I'd better do this in case my printer was swimming inside. Read a while back in a Computer Mag that Epson said service was vital as these pads would need changing.

I've used a CIS since day one and as such I've never had carts in and out. Never had to do a head clean and I have to say my Pads were mint clean and white. The tube was bone dry and you can tell it's not needed any replacement. Epson are profiteering from this service thing. It's a scam to get you to pay an extortionate fee or scrap a perfectly good printer.

*groan*

I have just seen this after replacing my old R200 with a new R265... I too got the old "Service warning" message and thought nothing of it... then it just wouldnt do anything I asked of it... phoned epson and they advised on either a service or just buying a new printer...
I've had the R200 since they first came out and thought why not I'm due a change anyway... just bout a CIS for the R265 as well...

Out of curiosity I googled resetting the service on the R200 a few days later and found site after site giving advice... then I log in here today and see this... I'm deflated...

Do you think I should put it on fleabay or repair it with the bottle trick and sell to a friend or someone else ?
