Ipod help please

Hi can any one help please my m8 keeps getting this error when trying to transfer files to it no idea me so any one help please.

attempting to copy to the disc Nicks ipod failed,you do not have enough access privilidge for this operation itunes could not save to your music folderbecauseyou do not have write access. check the permissionon music folderand foldersin your music folders, then try copying this file again

Try repairing permissions. Go to Disk Utility and repair permissions on your main hard drive.

Is he doing this process the same exact way he's always transferred files in the past, successfully until now? Stupid question but needed to be asked rather than presumed.

I've never seen that message before myself.
