More info needed, Did you manually set it as your homepage or did you do it by clicking on the Make Google My Hompage link on the google page.

If you didn't do it manually then goto Control Panel / Internet Options and under Home Page type in www.google.co.uk (http://www.google.co.uk) and click apply.

Some anti spyware apps have the option to lock down the feature. Are you using spy bot, or spywareblaster? Look for that option within them.

did it manually then applied it , i've got ad-aware but i can't imagine why a spyware product would want to reset my homepage to a blank screen ?

It does not reset it. Its purpose is to prevent spyware from changing it in the first place.

And I dont think that adaware has that feature, is that the only one that you use?

This sounds like a botched Browser Hijacking (http://www.spywareinfo.com/articles/hijacked/).

Internet Explorer is extremely vulnerable and has been the target of several new exploits. You have been hijacked. You can use a non-Microsoft browser which is less vulnerable to these exploits, such as Opera or Mozilla.

CWShredder (http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/cwshredder.zip) has been known to effectively remove many hijacks from Internet Explorer. You might want to give it a shot.

Are you using the Immunize feature on Spybot? That would cause this problem.
Have you tried a different browser?

tried cwshredder and spybot and although they found plenty of crap it still does it :( should i reinstall my xp ??No is the simple answer. That is such a drastic action

Have you downloaded hijackthis? If not do this and then run it with no other apps open and then post the log here or at the URL posted by BlackDiamond earlier
