MP3 player help

I have a cheap MP3 player and it crashes (switches off) whenever I play podcasts from the BBC and some other sources, its OK for music, anyway have decided to buy a new one and want to know if this is a common problem (or have I just got a duff MP3 player), if it is a common problem can anyone suggest a 512 to 1MB player that will play the BBC podcasts.

I really think that it's your cheap MP3 player that's causing the problem. Could it be that the podcasts are in variable bitrate and/or a bitrate that your mp3 player doesn't support? I'd definitely check the bitrates of the podcasts before purchasing a new mp3 player so that you can be sure that it will support them.
