don't the custom skinning companies do anything similar?- i don't really need a second one (my bro refuses to swap me his Green LE samsung with my black one- i dunno why :D) and don't want to have to pay the price of another one

Ya I preordered a few there but I really don't have my hopes up. Ebgames LOVES to sell things that they don't have. One time my friend preordered GTAVC like 2-3 months in advance. I got mine the day it came out just by going to best buy, but he didn't get his game till about 6 weeks after it was released because EB takes preorders without thinking how much stock they will get in. The worst that happens is they give you a refund.

Hopefully they come through this time, I'm kinda suprised they didn't ask more for the price as I'm sure people would have paid $180-200 (which was pretty much the price of a regular xbox a few weeks ago).

Yep that's the one I pre-ordered. The controller has a custom Halo jewel in it too. Nothing to write home about but different nonetheless. Smokafatty, thanks for getting my hopes up as I'm in Canada and am having it shipped to MetsMan for him to mail up to me! :(

The only difference between this unit and the one's that were offered in Europe are (from what I can tell and aside from the region of pal vs. ntsc) the Halo jewelled controller and it saying 'Halo' on the front cover of the box.

Also I was thinking that my experience was at a store in the mall so maybe its better ordering it directly online.

I got confirmation mine shipped yesterday. I checked the tracking number and it will be at my door tomorrow.

edit: mine was a pre-order too, but at the store. lady called today and said they not supposed to hand out till tomorrow (friday) but the owner wanted 'em moved asap. didn't wanna sit on 'em.

EB mailed me and cancelled my pre-order cuz I ain't no damn yankee! :( I even made arrangements to have it shipped to another Mod in the States then have it shipped to me. Merc is sad now.

I got one, it is a 1.4 with a Philips drive, i flashed the TSOP with the 007/mem card trick works like a charm:) . I whish it was a blue one or a clear one.

Got mine too. Its a SAMMY, havent really looked much into it yet though, just got back from Florida.
