View Full Version : Dead laptop.... possibly.

Some months ago I was a little drunk and decided to move my laptop from one room to another. A long story short, I dropped it and it died. Now I can turn it on, the fan starts up and the little blue wireless network button on the front lights up but that's about as far as it all goes.
Any ideas from anyone what I may have done with it so I can either get in there and try to sort it myself or, if I sent it to a repair company, I know what sort of problems to look out for.

The laptop is a (don't laugh) TINY something something. AMD 3200+ 64 thing. I would put more details but I can't remember any of them and I seem to have become far more retarded than I used to be before I started university.

Cheers anyone that helps...
Fitz

Hi Fitz
I have never taken my laptop apart so I am just guessing here, there should be a memory compartment on the underside of your laptop.
If your very lucky the memory modules could be dislodged. Also check the hard drive bay for the same thing. I would think they have designed them so it could not happen but you never know. If it was up and running when you dropped it the hard drive could be shot. It is an easy item to change, but borrowing one to try in will be the hard bit.
