after umpteen problems with my old MESH computer i reinstalled windows (on their advice ).
the first problem i have encountered is i have no sound. i tried to play a cd through windows media player and it says no audio hardware is available or it is not responding.
Being a novice can anyone help?

If you have on-board audio, please give the make/model of your mobo. Likewise, if you're using an add-on soundcard, you'll need to tell the make/model of the card. I believe you need the audio driver.

The Asus A7N8X-VM is an nForce2 micro ATX mobo so let's download the nVIDIA Unified Driver v5.10 here (http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_udp_winxp_5.10.html) then run it to install it. Please read the notes on that page.
