Need help to identify modchip...!!!

Hey guyz,

I want to buy a brand new xbox but don't know which modchip is compatible with the new version of the XBOX...!!!
I'm in the US...need your help to chose which one is best for new XBOX?
How many version of the xbox out there? and what is latest version?

Modchips: Xenium, x2 lite/pro 2.3b, x-bit, Alladin.

I believe all new modchips work you just have to flash the latest bios(x2 4981) on to the chip.

there are 5 versions of xbox, 1.0,1.1,1.2,1.3 & 1.4.

the newer ones in the shops are 1.4's.

apperently there are 1.5 & 1.6 versions but i aint seen any.

The Xenium is a nice chip, have just installed my first one. Good software provided, easy to flash. defo the best chip out there.

I'm thinking that 1.6's are a myth but I've seen a few 1.5's. The only way to tell the difference between a 1.4 and 1.5 (as far as I know of) is to do a continuity test between the system ground and the modchip ground.

I would suggest just getting an applex v or alladin advance chip. Both go for around $20, are fairly easy to solder, and come preflashed so you don't need to worry about flashing in the beginning but you can always do it later if you want.

ok, So with the alladin advance chip you can just install it and play Back ups? Or?

And how do i tell what vers i have? Sorry im new to Chiping Xboxs And any info would be help full
