Cant host Multiplayer Games

I'm having problems hosting multiplayer games. I used to do it all the time on my old PC (which I believe had the same settings/software I have now).

The games I have tried to host are: Far Cry, Battlefield Vietnam and Championship Manager 03/04.

No-one can connect to me - but I can always connect to them.

I run Mcafee Firewall. I have given full access to all the above applicatios and opened some ports for the CM game. Still nothing.

I dont have an XP firewall runnig as well.

I have also tried completely disabling the firewall but still nothing - which draws me to the conclusion that it's something else?

What could be a possible cause of this? Anyway I can track down what's stopping people connecting to me?

Do you have a router? If so did you forward the apropriate ports?

I'm connected directly to the internet via a USB ADSL modem. I have opened ports on my firewall.

Just to say: I unistalled Mcafee and all works fine. If I disable it I still get the same problems. Why do I have to unistall it to play games?

Perhaps you did not open the proper ports required to play the game.
