These two kingston ddr ram are both 400Mhz.

What is the difference between them?

I have a mobo that supports 400Mhz cpu and ram but am only running a 333Mhz cpu. Will 400Mhz ram improve the speed of the system or will it run at 333Mhz because of the cpu.

Thanks for the help.

Kaine.

The second one is CL 2.5 which will run slightly faster than the first one and better for overclocking hence more money.

I've used the first type of Kingston RAM on a regular basis and not had a bad stick yet so if the above is of no real importance save your money I say as I doubt the difference will be that noticable.

Also if the fsb of your chip is only 333 then the RAM will only run at that so maybe go with cheaper 333 RAM unless you are planning on a chip upgrade in the near future as it will not benefit you with faster speeds.

Thanks Lazza will go with the 400Mhz although it will only run at 333 as the Kingston 512Mb 333 is only £2 cheaper and may upgrade cpu in future.
