I've sent you the HijackThis program. (It was the best program that I could find that wouldn't be too large for your yahoo mail account.) Please unzip it, run it, and post the log here.

thanks Elaine, I downloaded it and it says dont delete programs if u arent sure about (ie if they crucial to the running of the computer) , but im not computer literate enough to know what to keep or delete , spoke to my brother Scrabo(BST) and he sent me a link to Ad-aware and it detected 333 files that needed fixed/quaruntined. Hopefully the problem is sorted, before i did anything including logging this i did look into it myself by going into add/delete programs and deleted programs that looked dodgy but there was 1 that said newnet6.61 or something like that and it seems this is were it was coming from, it looked to me like a prog. that was needed for internet but obviously not...
How did i get this on my computer... I know... i downloaded 2 screensavers from a cover site cd.covers.cc( mods please delete site name if not allowed to mention site name), but it must be the most popular cover download site about, my brother told me that no screensaver is safe and Anti virus progarms will not protect u against spyware
To Elaine thank u for your help and i will buy u a drink

Glad to hear you got it sorted. However I would recommend installing SpywareBlaster (http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html) to prevent this sort of problem in the future. You also need to remember to update it regularly. You are allowed to post the link to Ad-aware, however it doesn't always solve the more stubborn problems. And thanks for the beer. :)

Paddy, it might still be useful posting theHijackthis log, As Elaine has said it doesn't really tackle the more stubborn spyware and the hicjack log will also show if there are any other 'bits and pieces' that shouldn't be there. Also download CWShredder and run that as well.

Spybot does tend to pick up more than adaware, I suggest you take the advice above and install spyware blaster and also post your hijackthis log - but please do it qwithout any other applications running at the time
