A while ago I saw a post on exactly what settings you adjust when burning a dvd with nero. Can't seem to find it, can anyone help??

Thanks

If its nero 6 there is a DVD-video option which you use.

It will use ISO Level 1, check for dvd compliance and create the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders for you.

It will also make sure the disc is finalised- I upgraded a while back from NEro 5.x.x.x so can't remember what specific settings are needed for that sorry.

Just use the nero wizard it does it for you.

You found the link here on this board or somewhere else?

sure it was here in the tutorials before the "changeover"
Managed to find a link at vcdhelp.com, but still getting the "unable to finalise" message

how big is the contents of this dvd- if it is over 4.37 gb (-r and a little less for +r) then nero won't be able to finalise the burn- at least thats the case when burning CD's i assume that would be the same for DVd's too although i may be wrong.

The disc will have to be finalised to play in a stand alone player though

it is less than 4.37Gb m8, have done this loads of times before but somehow 2 films I got from Blockbusters are being a pain to back up (Narc and tears of the sun).

Tried for a third time and this is what happens. It gets to 99% then these two messages come up at the time it fails
"Invalid block address"
"Could not perform end of disc at once"

Cannot understand why this is happening as I have backed up loads of dvd's before!!

Can anyone help me please!!!

Thanks

Well I don't use Nero for these exact reasons, so unfortunately I won't be much help for this program. You might want to try CloneDVD or another program and see what your results are.

Thanks m8, took your advice and downloaded a trial version of clonedvd2 and it worked a treat!!
Now all I have to do is "find" a full copy of clonedvd2 :D

Thanks for all the help :)

Glad it worked out for you m8. I use CloneDVD by Elby not CloneDVD 2. Lazza did a post (think it's on the 2nd page at the moment?) about CloneDVD 2 and I got the vibe it wasn't that great from reading it.

Might just want to get a copy of CloneDVD instead.

Enjoy.

Tried this also and had pretty good results no noticable difference between this and shrink or dvd-2-one, An excellent choice for begginers or someone wanting a one click software.
