how do i disable pop ups on windows xp guys????
really annoying me !!!

What kind of pop ups?

Pop up ad's or Windows Messenger service pop ups?

1st one requires a pop up stopper like AdSubtract or similar, 2nd one requires disabling of the Windows messenger service. Easiest way and with the other security options is to d/l the free XP-AntiSpy from www.xp-antispy.org/ (http://www.xp-antispy.org/) and just check that box in the Gui along with all the other things you wish to stop.

The best popup blocker in my experience is Popup Cop. Very good and effective, and small.

Or you can get a browser (Opera, Firebird) that has integrated popup blocking.

And if it's Windows Messaging, starting PopupCop it will ask you if you want to disable those popups as well.

lazza...need to know the 1 to disable windows messenger service if you plz m8??

Goto "Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Services" and right click on "Messenger" & select "Properties".

Click "Stop" under "Service Status" ......... and

Change "Start Up Type" to "Disabled"

Click "Apply" & "OK" to exit
