just installed nero 7 and need the mp3 pro encoder plug in. anyone know where i could get it? thanks

mp3PRO encoding costs money because Ahead and other companies must pay licensing fee to Thomson for it. Note that you need a player that can handle mp3PRO to play these files. Regular MP3 players can't handle the SBR stream so the mp3PRO's will sound terrible.

MP3 players that do not reconize the SBR stream will just ignore it. The MP3 will not sound bad, it will just sound like a regular MP3 at it's respective bitrate.

Yep, it'll not sound very bad from a 2" PC speakers but it will surely sound bad from a good pair of headphones or a good portable or a full system. Of course, Coding Techs must say it's OK because they're the 1 who develops it. The SBR stream doesn't just simply store the higher freq sound but it must work with the mp3 stream to make the music sound right. Even though the mp3 part is playable on regular MP3 players, without the SBR stream, the sound is not only dull but it's also distorted as well. :)
