Are these printers anygood

Cos i can get one for £25 and ink is gona cost me about £5 for pair

Wanting to print dvd covers

i think they're a decent printer for covers etc,obviously there's better printers for photos but its a bargain at £25 and like you say carts are really cheap as well.

After using C44's when building budget systems myself and now using Canon i350's instead I would say IMHO ditch the Epson for the Canon everytime.

Ink is dead cheap, removable/easily replaceable printhead and dirt cheap compat inks make this the clear winner in the budget printer stakes for me. Customers are always impressed when they get the i350 wheras I always got moans about the print quality (text inparticular) from people when I used to use the C42/44.

I had two Epsoms and the Heads went on both after about 18 months. After stripping one, it appeared that the nipples that pierced the ink containers were melting. It seems the ink is heated prior to printing and this caused the problem. Shame because quality was never an issue. Am just about to buy a Canon for the reasons Lazza has already mentioned. I guess twenty five quid is nothing though, so it depends on your budget.
