just a little question from the nube here. I think my sound card, vid card are all part of my motherboard. Just trying to figure out how to find out the make of my motherboard so I can download the drivers for my sound card, and vid. card, since I don't have either. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd take the side off your PC - look for a Motherboard number (look for a chip Like Intel/Via/ALI etc)

You'll find a model number on the motherboard. Probably large white text.

Once you've got that you can go to the manufacturers site and download the drivers.

(eg VIA KT 4XXXX) will probably take you (via Google) to somewhere like www.jetway.com.tw (http://www.jetway.com.tw) where you'll find all the drivers (this is an example so please do not go there on the straight of this post!

Good luck!

^ Exactly. You don't really need to know your mobo make and model, you need to know about the sound and vid chips used, Belarc will tell you that. Download here (http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html).

Yep, very often the OEM drivers from the mobo makers will work better for integrated components.

I think his soundcard's integrated into the mobo though from the sounds of it but I won't profess to know anything about that type of shite. :)

Me neither :)
