i have just got the new episode of lost so was dieing to get sound
so as the on board was not working i thought id put in a new sound card i had. after putting the card in , i turn the comp on , about toinstall the drivers and both DVD-rom and DVDr are missing from my computer they will not load any cds etc . , i checked the cables all fine , took the sound card back out . checked in bios and are still detected. and got the cdgone patch and no luck , what is going on and how can i solve this.

i gotta watch the next episode of lost :)

any help will be great

Can you give the make/model of your board first pls. Probably a driver on the mobo required to get the sound installed (possibly your BIOS has the sound disabled when it should be enabled!?)

Have you checked the IDE status of both your DVD units (are they on Master/Slave or cable select?)

Let us know please and we'll try and hepl for you. ;)
