hi.

JUst installed a laser in my ps2 and ive got a load of trouble.

When you press eject, the disc tray makes a bizzare grinding noise, then gives up and comes out. Then i can quite happily make it go in and out. However, when i insert a disc, it goes schitzo and the laser sounds like its beating up the disc.

Ive installed a laser before perfectly so i know it isnt that. I think its something to do with the mechanics of the eject system. BUt i can quite pin point it. Ive tried elevating it down and up etc but thats doen nothing.

Anyone help??? all i wanna do is play WE!!!:bawling: :bawling: :bawling:

Btw, its a v4. But the laser is from a v3. Could that be it? no?

This happened to me on an install of a laser, I mounted the laser tray incorrectly on the path that it ejects the disc. Check to make sure it is aligned correctly. Lasers for v1- v4 are all the same.

the laser slides on rails, on the right side of the rails(I could be wrong) there is a white screw thingy, it needs to align with the white screw correctly or it will not operate properly. Sorry I'm not more specific but I haven't installed a laser in atleast a year.

these seemed to be aligned properly as i can move the little bar and the tray moves up and down.

Any other ideas people?
