How do you know it doesn't compare?? Exactly what PS3 screen shots are you comparing it to? Care to point people to a link that shows real in-game PS3 game graphics for comparison?

All I know is looking at the demo's at the stores around here the 360 looks good if not great but ofcourse it's a little decieving because they have them running in hi-rez modes.

CounsinFizz.... Where is the logic in your statement? Exactly, how is showing off that a machine is capable of displaying hi-res graphics actually deceiving anyone? Isn't better sound and graphics a central point of any brand new game system? That isn't a deception, it's a fact.

I know I'll be running it in hi rez mode with top of the line hookups when I get mine so why's is that a deception?
The 360 is a real reason for a HD-TV in the UK and not the pile-o-cack that is sky.

If you had read my post I said a 'little' the reason being is take for instance a friend of mine is all excited about it (XBox 360) and he knows nothing of what he's getting into. The logic you ask? Well he thinks as soon as he gets the system home it's going to look like what's in that store and the TV he has is NOT going to look like it did in the store at all. (like I say he knows nothing about hi-rez let alone anything else) I know it's all about the NEXT step and it looks great and sure why not show it off but if you don't have the set-up you will feel a bit let down. (don't kid yourself, heck my Xbox looks (almost),not quite, as good) Now you ask me if there's any logic, as you say, in that? :saywhat:

As for me I won't feel in the least let down because I know better and it will be a great purchase for me. All I'm saying is be aware of what you're looking at is all.... :director:

And btw, when I did tell my bud that it wouldn't look the same on his rig he was surprised. But again if you're set-up then ENJOY!! :wavey:

And one more thing try a new trailer from a game that you may already know about only it's a bit different... here ya go....... :)

"Deceived" is just a bad choice of words on your part.

By definition, a deception would be advertising for a product that could never actually do what was advertised. In your case, if your friend simple isn't paying attention to the requirements on the side of the box that's not a deception, just ignorance.

I beg to differ... but hey we can agree to disagree.... :saywhat:

When Mom see's the new machine that jr. wants and jr get's it home on his 20inch (mono) TV and guess what jr is going to say? :bawling:

Because if you think about it there's NO 'side of the box' right now.... (just what they're showing in stores)

I can hear it now... the customer saying, 'It's not what I thought it was going to be'. I've been ripped off!... But then of course we'll know why they're saying that won't we...? :mornin:

Belive me because I use to work for EB and what can I say.... :insane:

BUT back to the topic at hand... here's the low down on games, etc at launch...

So what are you are saying is....that Sony, Microsoft, etc. should all display their brand new state of the art game consoles using cheap regular televisions because there is the small chance that so some uninformed moron may think he's being miss-lead? What next, should Best Buy only display non-HD content on all their HD Television displays? (because there is the off chance that some idiot won't realize that he also needs a HD TV-signal to display HD on his HD television?). So when Sony finally puts out the PS3 do you really think their displays will use low-end televisions and run old PS1 games? (By your logic, they could be misleading the customer if they didn't). Accomodating the lowest possible denominator as far as the consumer goes is not a good way to sell any product.

We can go on and on with examples of things were a customer could possible be deceived. As someone who says he worked in retail (EB) you should already know that no product, whether it's a game console or a microwave, can possible accomodate the expectations of every moron who walks in the door.

So what are you saying?

That my bud's a moron? I don't think so......... He's just not up to speed on tech, that's all. (Don't make me come over there. )

They could at least have a rating label saying that 'your' setup may be different' is all I'm saying bud. :director:

Sure would help the sells people... but who cares right? (you take to much upon yourself, it's just a friendly chat mate...)

Just because someone's not up on something doesn't make them a moron at all... I hope that clears that up, NEXT!

hey hey hey, what's up with all the commotion... this is my thread Fizz and Qwerty Top Row Section Keyboard, please bring it on PM...

the main theme of this thread is to prove that Xbox 360 cannot compete with PS3... and if you don't have a high-definition TV, then play it on a regular 10 inch TV screen, that would makes the graphic looks better since it doesn't stretch out a lot...

when the ps3 is out THEN you can make a comparision, until then this post is pointless!

"PS3 Rulez!!!"

CousinFizz
11-26-2005, 02:39 AM
I never said it was anyone else's thread so I'm not sure what you mean by that... and the double post was a mistake due to a glitch that I had with my browser that night. (I've had some computer problems lately.) I really don't care if the PS3 is better because it's not around right now. All I was saying is that the XBox 360 won't look at it's best if you don't have a top of the line set-up and I was jumped on (strange to say the least)... and like what was said, it's pointless to compare since we really can't. So have a good one and I'll be on the side. In the mean time give the XBox 360 a go you just might be surprised. (maybe not) cya... :wavey:

As a side note, on my website I remarked about this. 'Can the Xbox 360 hold-up?' But I for one hope it does due to the fact that we all need more than one system on the market. It's just good for gaming.....

Could be a long wait CF, "The BBC claimed yesterday that Sonys Playstation 3 console system would be delayed for another year which would mean the system would debut in 2007 and not in mid 2006 as expected."

Lol..Xbox 360 possible recall coming alreadybecause of crashing on new games. Actual photos: http://www.flickr.com/photos/80491849@N00/ ( samples of what the crash looks like )

looks like ps3 all the way its going to blow the xbox360 crap total The real scam are naive, hypocritical, and clueless fanboys devoting themselves to the brand-name of a game console rather then just enjoying the games. The PS3 hasn't even been released yet you've already convinced yourself its better. Even worst is you're so insecure about it that you waste your time trying to convince everyone else to follow along in your own narrow-minded opinion. You and Yamihere are a joke.

I like how they also try to say the xbox360 isnt next-gen, then complain because it looks best in hdtv. Why would you expect a next-gen console to look best on old-gen tv standards? Why do you think the ps3 will have hdmi outputs and support 1080p? Duh hdtv, and improved graphics in general, is part of these consoles being next-gen! The ps3 will look just as crappy as the xbox360 on a standard tv.

The PS3 would be great IF it comes out..... Games are sure to be expensive. I'd have to get a better tv :-)

there both good, except with the 360 we have it to play.

some people forget that all machines have had probs when released.
some people also forget that most machines and the game development process take a while to mature.

example look at all other FPS on xbox, compared to doom3 / chronicles of riddick / halflife 2 etc etc.

do you not possibly think that it could be the game that is causing that? and not the machine?

ive noticed a few indescrepencies with a couple of games, but i`d put that down to the game themselves and not the machine.

i have seen the 360 running pgr3 on a hdtv in the shop, and yes it looked fantastic.
altho there are thousands of people, myself included, who do not own a hdtv.
this means a large percentage of people are not getting the best out of the console. its almost like your being punished for not being upto date in the tv stakes!
its the console equivalent of watching a remote control car advert on tv with a purpose built exiting background with jumps etc, buying the car, then watching your kids disappointment as the car moves nothing like it did on tv when used over the living room carpet!
well..i know what i meant!

im sure the games will improve, but you really need a hdtv to get the best out the 360. the graphics arent as sharp on a non hdtv and are disappointing.
is there some pics/video to enforce this statement, as it really need to be comapred to be beleived!

This thread has gotten absurdly stupid. The people arguing against it are basically just complaining that they don't have an HDTV yet. Standard Definition has reached its limits. That fact isn't going to change when the PS3 comes out. If Standard Def is all you want then there is no point in you getting either a 360 or a PS3. Either way, progress isn't going to stop simply because you can't keep up.

HDTV being used on 360 displays is simply showing off what it is really capable of, that's alot different then an advertisement for a remote control car doing exagerated stunts.

Gotta agree with QWERTY, it's just plain STUPID to think that MS would display Demo 360's on an OLD TV that they brought when RUMBELOWS closed down 15 years ago. Why Would you? You think they want to keep a secret what their console is capable of? Do you see aftershave adverts using a fat spotty bloke getting ready on friday night? Or McDonalds showing you a flat 1" limp burger big mac with manky lettuce?.

There are people on here who are seriously misguided bordering on braindead. Sony are already arguing that the 360 is not true HD and their PS3 is. Hand on heart Sony fanboys, do you genuinely believe the PS3 will be demo'd on anything other than a HD TV? Or do you reckon it's off to the museum for a Logie Baird original.

If you got it, flaunt it.

I dont think people are suggesting it will be critical. But if you see the diffrence between the two then you will see why people rave on about high def. Normal screen on its own fine, normal screen Vs a plasma/LCD dosent stand a chance.

I'm running my 360 on a 30 inch HDTV now and it looks great. Haven't had any problems other than PGR skipping but an exchange cured that. XBox Live is great too. Is there really a PS3 coming? That looks like it will be in the fall now and you know they'll have their own problems. To say that the PS3 will blow away everything is crazy! MS will have it's 2nd generation games coming to market by then and way ahead of the crowd. I suspect Sony will push hard but like I say they will have their own problems to work out, all you have to do is look back at the PS2's release and, well, you know what I mean... Sony has a ways to go if you ask me. It doesn't mean I won't own one it just means I'll wait on getting one like most people will since they'll already have 360's by then. Don't miss out on the 360, it's worth at least trying out. cya.. :) (non-fanboy here, just an 'ol gamer)
