Personally I'd say no.

Two reasons, a format and os re-installation will fix all 1,000 errors and you can probably find free programs that do the same thing from www.google.com (http://www.google.com)

Depends on what these "errors" were. Chances are they're not really true errors.

For example, if you open say a word document then a link to that is kept in "recent documents". If you then delete that word document that link in recent documents remains in the registry.

A program that scans the registry would see a shortcut to a file that doesn't exist, this would be counted as an error. When really it's not.

I personally don't think it's worth using a program to "clean" your registry, there is a risk it could be corrupted and you probably won't notice any increase in speed.

However, other things you can do are.

Use scandisk, it comes with windows. In "windows explorer" right click on your HD, goto properties, then tools and you'll see scandisk. Use it to scan the drive next time you reboot.

Defrag is another program that comes with windows, "start", programs, accessories, system tools. Use that to make files load from your HD faster.

Try http://personal.inet.fi/business/toniarts/ecleane.htm I've used that in the past and it's been great.
