I've just got a new PC. I am using the new Hard Drive that came wiht the PC. I have stuck my old hard drive (untoouched) in the new pc.
So I have both hard drives in my pc.
I want to import all my mailboxes, address books etc from my old hard drives outlook express into my new hard drive oulook express.
I would just settle for the mail boxes (the folders) if that's all can be done.
How can I do this?
Thanks
edit: Sorry just thought, my old hard drive has XP PRO on it and my new one has XP Home on it. If that helps.

Easiest way would be to put the old HD back in the old PC ... then :
For Address Book :
Open Address Book, go to File Export/Address Book (WAB) & save file to HDD
For Accounts :
Open Outlook Expree, go to Tools/Accounts/Mail and highlight first Account & select Export. Repeat this and export all Accounts, saving them in same location as above for easy location later.
Now put the drive back in the new PC and reverse each process i.e. Import and locate your saved files.
Hope that makes sense.

Yep, I understand completely, but surely there is an easier way to do this?
Where are the mailbox files stored in XP PRO, can I get at them?

Outlook Express Backup Genie (http://www.amicutilities.com/outlook-express-backup/) is really easy to use and the 15 day trial is fully functional. You could also try using
OEBackup (http://www.oehelp.com/OEBackup/Default.aspx).

You should be able to import this.
Not sure where your mailbox info is stored though ... I will see if I can find it or ... maybe someone else knows .

Go to Tools/Options..., click the "Maintenance" tab, and click the "Store Folder..." button. This will give you the path to all the dbx files for your folders.

I might be wrong but I dont think any of the above will work, unless you are running your old HD as the boot drive in your old PC (i.e. actually running OE on the old setup).
Assuming the above, this may help explain better than I could :
