Been thinking we should put up blueprint .xml, .ini, .txt settings for all the different apps/emus/media players- I think i understand them fairly well now, and could annotate some of mine, maybe they'll be of some help to others.

I dunno what do you guys think- if its here will it even get used?

Or should it be left up to xbox-scene for things like this? I mean the starting point for most of my own settings files were from there

I think it sounds like a good idea. I bothers me sometimes when people answer a question by saying "check over at xbox-scene". While the answer will be there the average user won't be able to find it or spend a long time looking. The only problem is that you would always have to keep updating it as new versions of software comes out.

I was also thinking it would be a good idea to make a thread with cool tips/tricks of newer software. For instance, for a long time I was using that crappy xbftp program to connect 2 xboxes then you or someone else mentioned that you can ftp through avalaunch. Thats saved me alot of hassle and I'm sure others don't even know about it.

ok cool- spacked my cheapmod on the weekend- currently waiting for my x23pro to be delivered :(- once my big black paperweight is up and running again i'll get on the case.

The ones i'm pretty confident on doing are evox, avalaunch, complex tools and xbmc (don't see the point of doing one for xbmp there is a perfectly good xbmp 2.4 pdf/word manual on xbox scene).

Haven't used evox for a while now so, am not familiar with the evox trainers so if others do know what they are doing with evox and other apps the help would be appreciated

I have a feeling the full avalaunch run through is gonna be an epic in itself :D

Sounds like a great Idea, sample configuration files would be a great help. Some of the emulators can have you scratching your head. I can contribute Unleashx and some of the emu's I play with.

I agree too. The things that have stumped most people with emulators/apps have been those xml-type files. It would probably cut down on so many repeated questions on the simpler things in those files. I have to admit that I have learned TONS of stuff by just simply copying/pasting from posts with them in it.

Snatch, sounds fine by me m8. The only thing I'd be concerned with is that this forum has it's limits with how much information we can put forth to anyone and everyone.

Xbox-Scene is a dedicated board committed solely to the Xbox and everything related to it. I don't mind info. but I'd be worried about an influx of information when it can be referenced to their site.

Rambling over. :)

True, no point reinventing the wheel but maybe we could update the faqs (not sure if we need the enigmah beta chip tutorial anymore  ).

And maybe we could add a few newb tutorials to help people and keep them from posting the same questions over and over. Like "What folder do i put my games/roms in?" stuff like that is so easy but is often confusing for newbs.

@smokafatty, I'm sure none of us here have any objections to anyone here that's familiar enough with what they're writing on to whip up a FAQ or two (or three?).

We can copy it into the FAQ or if you'd like you can email one of us and we can put it into the FAQ folder for you (with credit to the writer of course).

Cool, we'll have to be careful though, if we make the tuts too good then nobody will have anymore questions and we'll all get bored

Merc I got a question, I'm working on some Emu FAQS, I'm going to put a legal disclaimer and such. I know these where iffy on the old board, is it ok for me to go ahead and get these on here?

I see your in vancouver, I'll be in West Hastings Street for "4-20" ;)
