How to play Gamecube backups

Has any progress been made on this as far as a chip, or is the broadband/network method still the only way to do this?

They bring out new loaders now & then with more features. There is a working emulator, but slow, called the dolphin.

dolphin is showing some amzing potential it runs resident evil 2 almost perfectly.
but i've got pso and i'm just waiting for my bba to arrive :)
