I tweaked them years ago, Now It isnt returning great search results when I search my hard drive.

Any ideas? I know the files are there....

Virgin San has the right idea. You need to disable the indexing service in XP to get rid of the search companion. However you need to put a program in its place. PowerDesk (http://www.v-com.com/product/pd_ind.html) is a great application, however it's not free. Unfortunately they just keep adding more bells and whistles to it all the time. However it's very fast and efficient.
